TIRE DIRECT INTERNATIONAL GROUP, leader in the marketing and distribution of new tires in Mexico, with presence in more than 18 countries, makes an important decision by becoming a manufacturer.
In March 2023, the TDI board of directors decides to take concrete actions to build a new tire factory in Mexico, starting with the hiring of an expert in the field and opening a new department dedicated to this great project and many more that come along with it. this important challenge. Due to the above, Eng. Luis Hernández joined the group, as director of Innovation and New Projects at Tire Direct, to lead this initiative to install a new Tire Factory.

International alliance
After several months of exploration, review and strategies, to make the tire factory in Mexico a reality, it was decided to make an alliance with the renowned Tire Manufacturer, SAILUN INTERNATIONAL, a Chinese company, which is the tenth largest tire manufacturer in the world; in addition to being the creator of cutting-edge technologies in the Rubber and Tire Industry, such as Liquid Gold, and being a manufacturer of machinery for this automated and cutting-edge industry.
TIRE DIRECT INTERNATIONAL GROUP's decision to join forces with SAILUN INTERNATIONAL is to create a synergy with the skills of the two large corporations to build a new passenger car tire factory in Mexico with an annual capacity of 6 million tires in its first stage, and subsequently an expansion of the manufacturing capacity for radial truck tires with a capacity of 1.6 million units per year, achieving the installation of this factory in record time, like no one has done before in this country.

Tire Direct International Holding y Sailun International Holding han formalizado su relación y proyecto para la fabricación de neumáticos en México firmando el contrato de Joint Venture entre las dos partes en una ceremonia que se llevó acabo el 14 de Diciembre del 2023, en la que el Chief Executive Officer de Sailun International Mr. Xie Xiaohong y el Chief Executive Officer de Tire Direct International, Gonzalo Santamarina Palazuelos, firmaron el acuerdo en presencia del Chairman Honorario y fundador de Sailun Group Yuan Zhongxue, y el Presidente Honorario de Tire Direct International, Gustavo Santamarina.
The future of tires in Mexico
This new factory that will soon be a reality will mark the future of the tire industry in Mexico and the world, since it will be the first factory in Mexico of Chinese origin, the only Mexican factory currently that will produce passenger tires, with a Mexican brand and the first radial truck tire factory in Mexico.
The objective of this project for Tire Direct International is to consolidate its leadership in the distribution, marketing, manufacturing and sale of tires in Mexico, and to be able to venture into other countries and export markets in which it does not yet participate.

This factory will begin construction in 2024, and will start tire production in record time, in addition to being the most modern and automated in America. It will have a wide portfolio of measurements available, the newest and trendiest models on the market, and the best technology worldwide. Tire Direct International Group confirms that it is a 100% Mexican company and that they are proud to be Mexican. It is the most important investment by a Mexican company in the tire industry in history.
